Signs Of The Day Of Judgment In Islam (Major & Minor Signs Explained)
In today’s world, many people are asking one deep question…guess what??
“Are we living near the end of times?”
Every day, we see changes in society, rising chaos, moral decline, and unexpected events.π₯Ί
And for a believer, these are not just random incidents.
They are reminders.
Reminders of something Allah and His Messenger ο·Ί already warned us about —
The Day of Judgment (Qiyamah).
In Islam, the Day of Judgment is not just a belief.
It is a certainty.
Allah says in the Qur’an that every soul will taste death, and every person will be held accountable for their deeds.
But before that day arrives…
There are signs.
Clear signs.
Signs that were described more than 1400 years ago — yet today, many of them are happening right in front of us.
These signs are divided into two types:
Minor signs and Major signs.
Let’s understand them.
First, the minor signs.
These are the signs that appear gradually over time.
Many of them have already happened, and some are still continuing.
The Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί mentioned that among the minor signs:
Time will pass quickly
Knowledge will decrease
Ignorance will spread
People will compete in building tall buildings
Immorality will become common
Trust will be lost
When you look around today…
Isn’t this exactly what we see?
People are always in a rush.
Days feel shorter.
Wrong things are becoming normal.
And truth…
often feels hidden.
Even the competition in building tall skyscrapers —
something once unimaginable in desert lands —
is now a reality.
These are not coincidences.
They are signs.
Signs reminding us that this world is temporary.
Then come the major signs.
These are powerful, extraordinary events that will happen closer to the Day of Judgment.
They will not be subtle.
They will shake the world.
Some of the major signs include:
The appearance of Dajjal (False Messiah)
The return of Isa (AS)
The emergence of Gog and Magog (Yajuj & Majuj)
The rising of the sun from the west
The appearance of the Beast
These are not normal events.
They are beyond human understanding.
And once these major signs begin…
The end will be very near.
But here’s the most important question…
Why has Allah told us about these signs?
Is it to scare us?
No.
It is to wake us up.
To remind us that this life is not permanent.
That our actions matter.
That what we do today…
will decide our tomorrow.
Because when the Day of Judgment arrives…
There will be no second chance.
No time to go back.
No opportunity to fix mistakes.
That is why Islam constantly reminds us:
Prepare before it is too late.
Turn back to Allah.
Seek forgiveness.
Improve your character.
Strengthen your faith.
Because the signs are not just events…
They are warnings.
And also mercy.
Mercy from Allah…
giving you time to return.
So the next time you see something happening in the world…
Don’t just scroll past it.
Reflect.
Because maybe…
it is one of the signs.
And maybe…
it is a message for you π€Remember that ✍️π
